5^th INTERNATIONAL COURSE OF

COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE

Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, Spain)

with

Carlo Boso from the Piccolo Teatro of Milan and TAG Teatro of Venice. He has worked with Giorgio Strehler, De Philippo, Dario Fo… Boso is artistic director in theatre companies all over Europe and head of the Académie Internationale des Arts du Spectacle of Paris. He has led more than 120 workshops for actors on commedia dell’arte all over the world

Stefano Perocco is one of the great master mask-makers from Italy. Trained by Donato Sartori, he has made masks for shows directed by Carlo Boso, Peter Brook, Michel Bayar, Leo des Bernardins… Perocco is also a set designer (specialized in epoch scenery). He participates in courses, exhibitions and workshops all over the world.

Features of the Commedia masks and characters

Construction of Commedia mask (in leather, for each student): from clay mould to wood mould and construction and finishing of mask in leather

During the course students will work on traditional scenarios from Commedia dell’Arte

Students have the opportunity to attend the Symposium and lectures by Commedia dell’Arte scholars.

The organization can help people from outside the country to look for affordable accommodation in Alcala de Henares (usually in student apartments).
